Salaries Up to NT$57K: Taipei Water Department Launches Annual Recruitment Drive, Seven-Figure Annual Pay Within Reach in Five Years
The Taipei Water Department has officially launched its 2026 recruitment campaign. Recruitment examinations for new hires will be held between March and May, with monthly salaries reaching up to NT$57,000. The openings include 16 staff positions in fields such as civil engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering, business administration, and information technology, along with 10 technician positions, including openings for individuals with disabilities. In total, 10 regular hires and 59 alternates will be selected. According to the Taipei Water Department, the average acceptance rate over the past two years has been approximately 10.85% for staff roles and 41.66% for technician positions. Applications will be open from March 20 to March 29, all interested candidates are welcome to apply. According to the Taipei Water Department, under the 2026 salary scale, the starting monthly salary is approximately NT$57,000 for new Level-4 Engineers, and NT$47,000 for Assistant Engineers (or Administrative Officers) and Level-1 Engineers (or Assistants). These staff positions have a six-month probation period, after which formal employment is granted upon satisfactory performance. For new technicians, the starting monthly salary is around NT$33,000, with a three-month probation period after which formal employment is granted upon satisfactory performance. Outstanding employees may see their monthly salary increase to approximately NT$75,000, NT$64,000, and NT$44,000 respectively after five years. In addition to monthly salaries, employees are eligible for performance bonuses of up to 2.4 months’ salary, as well as a 1-month annual performance evaluation bonus. For example, an outstanding Level-4 Engineer may earn an estimated NT$880,000 in the first year, with annual earnings potentially rising to NT$1.15 million after five years.
