The origins of the Taipei Water Department’s Engineering Agency can be traced back to April 1958, with the establishment of the Taipei District Waterworks Construction Committee under the Taiwan Provincial Government. In 1976, the Taipei City Government approved the formation of a unified water utility agency. Subsequently, the Taipei Water Department was officially established in 1977, with the Engineering Agency under its jurisdiction responsible for managing both special expansion projects and routine improvement works for the city’s water supply infrastructure.
