Scope:
With the rapid development of Danhai New Town and rising water demand in the surrounding areas, a portion of the water supply must now be supported by the Taipei Water Department. Given that existing pipelines cannot accommodate the additional volume, a new dedicated transmission line was planned—running from Feitsui Reservoir through the Datong–Guandu Line and Dadu Booster Station, ultimately connecting with the Taiwan Water Corporation’s pipeline network. In June 2007, the Ministry of the Interior approved the Danhai New Town External Water Supply Plan. In response, the Taipei Water Department included this project in its Phase V Water Supply Construction Plan for the Taipei Area, with a target year of 2030. In line with the plan to install a new ∮1200mm water transmission pipeline, this project comprises the shield tunneling section of the Dadu–Danhai Line ∮1200mm water transmission pipeline, extending from the Dadu Distribution Reservoir and Booster Station to the connection point with the Taiwan Water Corporation’s water supply network.
The scope includes shield tunneling works, launch and reception shafts (manholes), and connecting pipelines constructed via open-cut methods.
1.Total shield tunneling length: 2,255 meters.
2.One ultrasonic flow meter installed.
Benefits:
Ensures adequate water supply for Danhai New Town and surrounding regions, while also serving as a backup pipeline for Beitou and Tamsui areas to enhance water supply stability.
Project Cost: USD 11.5 million
Construction Period: September 2016 – May 2020
