Project Scope:
This project involves the function enhancement of the Datong No.1 Reservoir Booster Station and the Shi-Er-Zhang Booster Station. The scope is outlined as follows:
1.Datong No.1 Reservoir: Installation of seismic expansion joints with flexible connectors within the reservoir, structural reinforcement of the roof slab with carbon fiber, addition of maintenance manholes and access facilities, and structural repairs.
2.Datong No.1 Booster Station: Installation of a pump hoisting opening in the machine room, addition of a fixed hoist bracket, access facilities, building refurbishment, structural repairs, and removal of existing pump units and piping.
3.Shih-Er-Chang Booster Station: Renewal of water mains (including the installation of butterfly valves, wall sleeves, and replacement of flexible pipes); reapplication of waterproofing for exterior walls and roof; outdoor drainage and flooring repairs; and structural reinforcement.
Project Benefits:
1.By reinforcing aging or damaged structures, correcting uneven settlements, and restoring damaged expansion joint waterstops, the seismic resilience is enhanced, reducing the risk of leakage and soil erosion that could compromise water supply.
2.The improvements bolster disaster resilience and emergency response capabilities of the water supply system, ensuring more secure and reliable water access for residents.
Project Cost: USD 4.7 million
Construction Period: December 2021 – February 2023
