Scope:
This project pertains to the shield tunneling portion of the water transmission from Anhua Booster Station to Xindian. The total length is approximately 2,300 meters, including about 2,176 meters of shield tunneling and 124 meters of cut-and-cover construction. A tunnel boring machine (TBM) was used to excavate the tunnel, in which U-type ∮1500mm Ductile Iron Pipes (DIP), Class 3, were installed.
Benefits:
This water transmission serves as the Anhua Booster Station’s outlet pipeline supplying Xindian District, replacing the existing Zhonghe Booster Station–Xindian line. It supplies domestic water to Zhonghe, Yonghe, and Xindian Districts in New Taipei City, and forms a dual supply system with the Zhonghe Booster Station, enhancing operational flexibility and reducing water supply risks.
Project Cost: USD 20.2 million
Construction Period: December 2008 – October 2012
